Jess Drakes, a Business Analyst in the Home Platform at Lloyds Banking Group, won the £5k jackpot in August’s subscription draw.
Jess recently joined the union following the changes made to compressed hours and opted to have 1 ticket in the draw.
I received a call from Robyn in the membership team and was confused as to why the union was contacting me. When she told me I’d won the top prize of £5,000 I was in complete shock. I thought it was a hoax at first as I’d completely forgotten I had a ticket in the draw. I feel so lucky to have won – I only joined Accord four months ago!
My husband and I are currently redecorating our house, so the extra money means we’ll be able to do a bit more than we planned. I’ll also treat myself to something nice.

Accord gives away £1,000s in prizes every month. One lucky winner gets £5,000 and runners-up each get £250.
Members can buy up to five tickets at £1 each. You can add or remove tickets in the subscription draw at any time by logging into your account.
Accord donates 10% of the draw surplus to two children's charities; NSPCC and Children 1st. Both charities exist to prevent abuse and neglect, to protect children and keep them safe from harm. The donations are made yearly.

I was really shocked to receive an email saying I had won £250 - it looked very real, but I didn't believe it at first! I can start my Christmas shopping now, and the rest on paying off my credit card - which makes me feel free!

I was absolutely surprised to receive the email I had won £250, what a wonderful surprise. At the moment I am looking to book a holiday to Bari in Italy for May 2024 so this will come in very handy!
