The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has warned that RAAC is now beyond its lifespan and may collapse with little or no notice. The Department for Education (DfE) has ordered schools to immediately shut buildings made with RAAC until safety work is undertaken. There have been several incidents of roof collapses involving RAAC in schools and other public buildings in recent years.
