TUC: International Workers' Memorial Day

Visit the Workers Memorial Wall

Event details

Every year on the 28 April, the trade union movement unites to mark International Workers’ Memorial Day (IWMD).

Almost two million people die as a result of occupational accidents or work-related diseases each year. Most don't die of mystery ailments or in tragic accidents. They die because an employer decided their safety just wasn't that important a priority.

International Workers’ Memorial Day enables us to both commemorate these lost workers and renew our efforts to organise collectively to prevent further deaths, injuries and disease.

Become a Rep

Accord has over 350 trained workplace representatives across the country who are there to help when things aren't going so well. Reps are the beating heart of the union, and often the first port of call offering advice, guidance, information, and representation.

No other union in either LBG or TSB can match this network of support.
