Don’t miss out on your private healthcare excess cashback benefit for 2025!

Accord's Private Healthcare Excess Cashback Scheme is one of the union's most popular membership benefits - making private healthcare even more accessible and affordable for our members. 

Members can claim back 50% of the excess they’ve paid under their employer’s private healthcare scheme, up to £100 per 12-month period. 

The scheme is available to Accord members with private healthcare from their employer, after 12 months of full, continuous membership - full terms and conditions available here.

In 2024, we paid over £100,000 to members to help with their excess payments, highlighting just how valuable this scheme is in helping members manage their healthcare costs.

Jackpot Joy for Kayleigh!

Kayleigh Churchyard from Wisbech joined Accord to have a voice on important matters like pay, and to ensure fair treatment at work.

Soon after signing up, she added two tickets in the monthly lottery draw. A few months later, she received a phone call to let her know she’d won the top prize!

On hearing the news that I won £5k, it didn’t really register with me at first. I’m working in a branch that is part of a branch closure, so at first, I thought it was a call about that – until the lovely lady on the phone said I had won. I genuinely couldn’t believe it! 


I have never in my life won that much money! I have been desperately saving so that I can finally have my own home, and this was such a welcomed bonus and has taken a year off my savings goal! I am so happy!

Top Prize for Tony!

Tony Davidson from Belfast was the lucky winner of the £5k jackpot in October’s subscription draw.

Tony’s win comes after years of support for Accord, having signed up to the draw with three tickets soon after joining in 2005.

"I felt over the moon after receiving that phone call from Robyn – it was truly amazing. I totally forgot about the lottery draw and paying into it every month. I thought it was someone pulling my leg – I couldn’t believe it!


2024 had been a tough year – so this win felt like a bit of good luck when I really needed it. Christmas had come early! I couldn’t wait to share the news with my husband, Trevor. And after discussing what to spend the money on, we decided to treat ourselves to a holiday – somewhere sunny!

You’ve got to be in it to win it!

Accord gives away £1,000s in prizes every month. One lucky winner gets £5,000 and runners-up each get £250.

Members can buy up to five tickets at £1 each. You can add or remove tickets in the subscription draw at any time by logging into your account.

Accord donates 10% of the draw surplus to two children's charities; NSPCC and Children 1st. Both charities exist to prevent abuse and neglect, to protect children and keep them safe from harm. The donations are made yearly.
