Sandwich generation carers are people who have caring responsibilities at both ends of the age spectrum. They’re still looking after their children but have also taken on responsibility for looking after an elderly relative, usually a parent. There are estimated to be 2.4 million sandwich generations carers in the UK and at times their lives can feel very stretched by these responsibilities, especially if they're also holding down a busy job.
We've teamed up with the Bank Workers Charity to explore different aspects of the lives of sandwich generation carers and review steps psychologists have identified to help avoid the multiple demands taking a toll on health and wellbeing.
This webinar is free and open to all members.

Loneliness has been found to have the same negative health impact as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. And recent research has shown the importance of even small-scale social exchanges to our overall wellbeing.
It’s assumed older people struggle most with loneliness but it’s actually most common among younger employees. How can we build our connections and protect ourselves against loneliness?
In this webinar from the Bank Workers Charity they will explore social wellbeing and the impact of loneliness at work and will identify some steps we can take to make our workplace environment more supportive of our social wellbeing needs.
This is a free webinar and open to everyone.
Thank you for this session.
It's given me lots of information, and it gave me the info I needed to get in touch with the Bank Workers Charity and organise some support.

When well-designed, these technologies offer new opportunities to enhance capacity, create new jobs and improve the conditions and quality of work. But this transformation is also driving a wide range of economic, social and psychological impacts for working people.
In this webinar, the TUC were joined by experts from the Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW) who introduce “The Good Work Algorithmic Impact Assessment” and discuss how it can help employers and unions deliver ‘Good Work’ in the age of AI.

The suicide rate is worryingly high, whilst prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. The persistence of these health issues and others among men is aggravated by their reluctance to visit their GP, to seek help from a counsellor or to ask for support.
Men are less likely to talk about their mental health and are more reluctant to see their GP. In this webinar from the Bank Workers Charity they explore the reasons why, and the key issues affecting men’s health.
The session covers:
- Disparities between genders in seeking healthcare
- The challenges of different life stages
- The influence of social media on men’s health
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Impact of relationships on health
- Where to get support
