Accord reps' get togethers

We surveyed our reps in LBG to find out how they'd like to participate in Accord meetings in the future. 75% of reps said they’d be happy to join in-person or online, 16% said in-person meetings only, and 9% were only comfortable joining online sessions.

So, we’ve planned some face-to-face meetings in May and an online session for those who can’t make it to one of the physical meetings. The dates and locations are:

  • Wednesday 17 May: Glasgow
  • Thursday 18 May: Belfast
  • Wednesday 24 May: Leeds
  • Thursday 25 May: London
  • Thursday 1 June: Online

Reps should request the time off now and book their place.

Please note: these meetings are for Accord reps in Lloyds Banking Group only.

Heart Unions Week

HeartUnions week took place from 13 – 19 February and was a chance to let people know why unions are important for workers and to encourage them to join a union.

Accord used the week to encourage its reps and members to talk to colleagues about the union and why being a member is important. The team visited 12 LBG sites during the campaign, giving away some Accord heart merchandise and speaking to staff about the value of union membership.

The union extended its three months’ free offer until mid-March which saw 340 new members join during this period.

Happy HeartUnions Week! There's never been a more important time to be a member of a trade union. Unions have been very much in the news lately, dealing with the difficult issues that confront us. But we're here, 365 days a year, supporting our members in all aspects of their employment and providing other benefits and services to make membership of a trade union really worthwhile.
