The legal helpline is run by experts from Slater & Gordon who have been working with unions and their members for over 90 years.

You and your immediate family* can use the helpline. Qualified legal advisers are available 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday. Calls made outside these hours are taken as call backs arranged for the following working day. The advice is completely confidential and free.

Personal injury claims

Dallas McMillan will represent all Accord members on a no win no fee basis in relation to any personal injury claims they may have as a result of an accident at work or outside of work. As an Accord member, you will receive 100% of any compensation recovered for you.

Criminal injuries compensation authority claims

If you have suffered the trauma of being a blameless victim of a violent crime, you could be entitled to compensation from the Government’s Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). Dallas McMillan will act on a no-win no-fee basis for any Accord member wishing to pursue such a claim.

Wills, powers of attorney & conveyancing

You are also entitled to a FREE Will which Dallas McMillan will prepare for you.

You will also receive a special reduction of 25% of all fees on conveyancing (house sale and purchase) and the preparation of Powers of Attorney.

Francis Hanna & Co will pursue compensation claims for Accord members injured in accidents at work or as a result of an accident outside of work. Members will receive 100% of any compensation recovered. Francis Hanna & Co will not charge Accord members a fee for any work done on their behalf.

Matrimonial & family law issues

Francis Hanna & Co represent clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law including issues relating to children. They are committed to resolving family disputes by negotiation but have the experience to judge when such disputes should be referred to the court for an effective resolution. Francis Hanna & Co will provide services as a reduced rate for Accord members and their families by discounting costs by 20%.

Francis Hanna & Co will act for all Accord members in pursuing any claim for clinical or medical negligence.

Conveyancing – property sales and purchases and re-mortgaging

Francis Hanna & Co will provide reduced rate fees for property sales, purchases and re-mortgages for all Accord members, discounting their usual fees by 20%. They are approved panel solicitors for all major lenders. The conveyancing department also deal with matters involving Co-Ownership, Help to Buy ISAs and Transfers of Equity.

Francis Hanna & Co will provide the following services to Accord members’ immediate families* and will offer the same discounts of 20% depending on the issue:

• Undertake compensation claims on behalf of immediate family members. For all claims relating to accidents at work and road traffic accidents, the claimant will receive 100% of compensation recovered.
• Provide reduced rate services for immediate family members for employment law advice and claims and for clinical negligence claims.
• Provide Wills for Accord members’ immediate family members on a reduced rate basis.
• Provide conveyancing services at a reduced rate.
