Reps’ meetings are usually held twice a year at locations across the UK. These meetings are attended by Reps in Lloyds Banking Group.
The bank gives paid time-off for reps to attend and Accord pays for travel expenses.
Around 60-80 reps attend each meeting where they have the opportunity to network with others reps, hear from Accord’s general secretary and ask questions to senior business leaders from the bank.
The next round of meetings are being held in various locations throughout the UK in November 2017. For the dates and locations, click here.
Accord’s Biennial Delegate Conference
The union holds its Conference every two years at venues throughout the UK. Conference is hosted by members of the Principal Executive Council (PEC), who are responsible for the running of all events from delegation arrangements, the venue, agenda items and motions and entertainment.
Conference gives Accord members the opportunity to shape the union’s agenda by seeking changes to the way in which they are managed, the terms of their employment or changes to their workplace. This is done by submitting motions which are heard by Conference and voted on by delegates. Motions that are successfully passed become the union’s policy for the term of the next (incoming) PEC.
The agenda of business is separated to reflect the union’s main campaigning areas: Dignity at work, Fair Reward and Security of Employment.
The next biennial delegate conference will be held in April 2018.
The 2016 Biennial Delegate Conference was held at the Europa Hotel in Belfast between 13th & 15th April 2016. Around 250 attended the 3-day event which saw 90 motions debated and voted on. To view the 2016 agenda, click here.
