We understand that being impacted by organisational change can be daunting. Whether you’re at risk of redundancy or part of a selection process, we’re here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Let’s take a quick look at the number of potential outcomes that are possible because of the changes Lloyds Banking Group is making to its organisational design (OD):
At risk – due to location
You may be considered at risk if your home address is over 25 miles from your proposed work location. This has become more common since Lloyds Banking Group changed its location strategy. This outcome doesn’t immediately mean you’re at risk of redundancy but you will need to decide whether you can travel to the suggested location under Lloyds Banking Group’s hybrid working policy (a minimum of 2 days or 40% of your contracted working hours in the new workplace).
If you say no to the travel commitment, you remain at risk of redundancy.
If you say yes, you will be placed into a pool where selection will take place to reduce the number of roles required at the new location.
At risk – role removed
If your current role is no longer part of the organisational structure and no suitable alternatives currently exist, you are classified as immediately at risk of redundancy (IAR).
At risk – pre-announcement day selection
Some selection processes take place before the changes are communicated on announcement day (A-Day) placing affected colleagues at immediate risk of redundancy (IAR).
In selection – post announcement day process
If the business is reducing roles but conducting a selection process after A-Day, you will have the opportunity to contribute input regarding your skills and experience.
You should provide detailed, written examples of your skills and achievements aligned with the criteria shared by your line manager. This strengthens your case during the selection process.
If you don’t agree with the selection outcome that places you at risk of redundancy you can appeal.
You have 14 days to submit an appeal. Start by notifying your manager of your intention to appeal and request your scores, evidence and rationale for the outcome decision. We can help you write your appeal and accompany you at the appeal hearing. Contact details for your local Officer who is ready, willing and able to support you can be found here.
If you’re at risk of redundancy, for any of the above reasons, Lloyds Banking Group will explore opportunities to redeploy you into either a suitable alternative or reasonable alternative role.
You’ll need to think about what you want from the next stage in your career, whether that’s continuing in a similar role with the Group, considering re-skilling options, or seeking opportunities externally.
Whatever you decide, you have access to a redeployment offering tailored to your future career aspirations through Lloyds Banking Group’s dedicated 'Organisational Change Support Site', the link to which will be shared with impacted colleagues as part of the business change announcement.
