Lloyds Banking Group to close 55 additional branches - reducing network to 932 locations

Lloyds Banking Group has announced plans to close 55 more branches, bringing the total number of branches across its Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland brands to 932. These closures will take place between January 2025 and September 2025.

The closures will affect 19 Lloyds branches, 4 Bank of Scotland (BoS) branches, and 32 Halifax branches. Lloyds Banking Group intends to redeploy some affected Grade A and B colleagues to under-resourced branches within a 20-mile radius or a one-hour travel time from their current location.

Where relocation is not feasible, colleagues may be offered roles in other parts of the Group or voluntary redundancy if the alternative branches are adequately staffed.

Accord has ensured that no colleague will incur additional travel costs due to relocation. Lloyds Banking Group has committed to covering any reasonable extra travel expenses for colleagues who transfer to a new base branch following a closure. "Reasonable travel" is defined as a one-way journey of up to 20 miles or one hour. This policy applies exclusively to branch closures.

Accord remains dedicated to minimising compulsory redundancies and ensuring that departing employees receive the full value of their heritage redundancy compensation terms.
