#HeartUnions week is a national event organised by the TUC. This year it’s taking place from 14 - 21 February 2022.
HeartUnions week is a chance to celebrate unions and the good work that we do, and to encourage people who aren't yet in a union to join one.
No-one could have foreseen the twin challenges of the ongoing global pandemic and unstable global economy. We’re proud of the way the trade union movement responded, stepping up to fight the pandemic, demanding action to protect jobs and supporting our members through thick and thin.
That’s why we’re encouraging all our reps and members to speak to colleagues about Accord and why joining is so important – because ‘Every worker needs a union!’
This year, we’re extending the offer of 3 months’ free membership to anyone who joins Accord between 14 February – 14 March 2022*. All they have to do is enter the promo code: HEARTUNIONS22.

Organise an event (online or in person) between 14 Feb – 14 March 2022 to promote the great work Accord does for its members, talk about the benefits of joining and share stories about why being a member is important to you!

TUC resources
The TUC has a dedicated website for HeartUnions week which features events f and online promotional materials – including a unique campaign ‘Twibbon’ which you can use on your social media profiles to show your support.
Join the organising call on Monday 14 February at 6.30pm to hear inspiring good news stories/union wins from union general secretaries, on why every worker needs a union.
Reps can also register for a webinar on Thursday 17 February at 2pm to discuss Covid airborne protections in the workplace.
