Help at work
If you have an urgent query or want to speak to someone about an issue at work, contact your local rep or call the union’s helpline on 01189 341 808 and select option 1 for the duty officer.
Accord’s first and foremost priority is to help its members at work. We do this in many ways: we negotiate with Lloyds Banking Group on behalf of members collectively, and we also help individual members when things go wrong.
Every day of the year, Accord works on your behalf to protect employment, pay, pensions and terms & conditions. This work is carried out by our staff and by the reps (who, like you, are also employees of LBG). Reps draw from their own experience and the resources of HQ to:
- Be there when you need someone on your side
- Offer advice and support
- Represent your grievance to those in authority on your behalf.
The demands of modern working life aren’t getting any easier. Unfortunately, problems at work still arise from time to time in areas such as:
- Being overlooked for promotion
- Being treated unfairly
- Being threatened with dismissal
- Being discriminated against on grounds of race, gender, working hours, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion.
At times like these, the services of a professional and effective trade union such as Accord are essential. Every day we help members with issues that impact their enjoyment of work and their quality of life, including:
- Being expected to work extra hours
- Being treated unfairly in appraisals or remuneration
- Being expected to work in conditions contrary to Health & Safety regulations
- Bullying
- Being harassed and stressed.
Accord members benefit from confidential, professional advice on any work-related issue. Accord will be there when you need someone on your side.
