Hello and welcome to Accord’s website.
Our union is dedicated to staff throughout Lloyds Banking Group. We currently have 30,000 members.
Accord is committed to positive industrial relations, based on mutual respect and understanding. We believe in consultation not confrontation, negotiation not imposition. That is Accord’s grown-up way of achieving the best results for our members.
We aim to be our members’ ‘best friend’ in the increasingly uncertain world of work and we campaign for: job security, fair reward and dignity at work. As well as negotiating with the employers on these issues, Accord also provides advice, support and guidance to individual members who have difficulties at work.
Members have access to a union-funded legal advice service, available 24×7. Free personal accident insurance is provided along with a number of other services and benefits (see under Member Benefits in the top menu).
Accord is affiliated to the TUC, the Scottish TUC and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. We are not affiliated to any political party. We are entirely funded by our members’ subscriptions and have no other income. This means that, unlike many other unions, we are completely independent. This is a very important consideration for anyone choosing a union, because we’re able to focus all our efforts on working for our members, with no other constraints.
