PEC elections 2012
The elections for the PEC president and members of the PEC are now open. Members have until 6 March to vote.
Cilla Christmas and Chris Goldthorpe are vying for the position.
Both Cilla and Chris are currently members of the PEC and have a wealth of experience within the union.
Says Ged: “It was great that we had more people than ever nominating themselves for the position. However, I’m pleased with this outcome – we’ve got two people up for the presidency who have already got experience of being part of the PEC and contribute so much to Accord and its members. Either one of them would make a fantastic president, and I know whoever doesn’t get voted for will continue to be a valuable member of the PEC.”
The remaining seats on the PEC have been filled through nominations except in the Wealth, Retail Products and Marketing Division where an election is necessary.
Three candidates are to be elected from the following six (one of whom MUST be from Wealth):
Stephen Brown (Direct Channels)
Cilla Christmas (Wealth)
Dianne Cousins (Direct Channels)
Tom Harrison (Wealth)
Michelle Hazlett (Direct Channels)
Daniella Wilkinson (Direct Channels)
The number of candidates in the following constituencies did not exceed the number to be elected, and the candidates are therefore ELECTED UNOPPOSED:
HALIFAX COMMUNITY BANK – 5 to be elected

Chris Goldthorpe
Carol Knowles
No further nominations were received for the two remaining vacancies

It is also a requirement of the Act that elections are carried out by a full postal ballot of members at their home addresses. Ballot papers have been sent out to members who are eligible to vote and the closing date will be noon on 6 March.
